You're way too positive Cracks :) I consider the last two pretty much throwaway :esp:

like the subject, has some good moments, backing tracks seem bit too 'vanilla'.
good song in there, but this one might have benefited from more time (which you don't have) to germinate.
still way better than anything I could whip up in a day. :)

Song 7:

The Girls Who Loves Too Much

http://thetones.bandcamp.com/track/the- ... s-too-much

Trying to be different here, it's a slow burner so be patient. I really fussed over getting the vocals sound right at the end but eventually I just gave up, it sounds boxy and I don't seem to be able to fix it.

Not sure where I'm gonna come up with 3 more ideas :)

Yea, you were right - #7 is probably the best you've ever written! :P

You are a master home recorder.

I really am enjoying this one. Very mesmerizing. If you ever get a free second, maybe put some soaring Tones style lead guitar over the build up to end.

Super song.

And, remember:

"Record an album in February that's 10 songs or 35 minutes long."

Count up your minutes. Maybe you are closer than you think. I am thinking of doing one more long one (ala Paul McCartney) with different sections to it. Get this thing wrapped up.

Edit: Hmm...I am a little short to be doing one more long song that would get me across the finish line. I have only 15:10 of music. I am probably better off just doing four more shorties. You, on the other hand, might be closer to the 35:00 mark. Do the math.

Thanks again Cracks.

Here's #8 (even I think 8 songs in 13 days in pretty good output :))

Never Let Me Go

http://thetones.bandcamp.com/track/never-let-me-go

Inspired by the two movies I watched Saturday night. Never Let Me Go for the title and Tamara Drewe which had a song playing over the end credits that I based (copied) the song idea from (though that was called Jailbait Jodie :)).

Tony, thanks for listen and comments on my latest songs.

I really think you are producing some of the best work you've done. These songs are really well done. This latest is great. That chorus is outstanding. You aren't taking any short cuts for the most part on this project. My hat is off to you. I am always impressed with your work.

:^: Another well written and well produced number. Reminds me of the Beach Boys in many ways. Good stuff.

Song 10 is complete and I'm done :)

The End

http://thetones.bandcamp.com/track/the-end

Last song from the Feb 2011 RPM Challenge. Done quickly, a cross between New Order - The Pet Shop Boys and what you find in the bottom of a trash can. All sounds done with the Kore Free Player.
