Zoom H6 and multitrack in iPad

Post by caras » Tue Aug 22, 2017 6:49 am

Hello,
This is my first question. I buy the Zoom H6 just to use apps in my iPad Pro.
I have seen a video in youtube where a guy make a multitrack record with Auria Pro. I tried to do it with Garageband but I get no sound. Someone has tried? Do I need Auria Pro?

If I use the Stereo Audio Interface I do not know hot to send the inputs, cause AFAIK the Stereo 1+2 is routed to the adapter Microphone (I do not need in this case) and I get no signal from my guitar and microphone in the XLR inputs.

and how is about iOS 11 ( I am using the Beta now) it is (will be) OK? or need the firmware be adapted to 64 bits?

Thank you

Page 68 of the manual:
NOTE
  • ...
  • With an iPad, use Stereo Mix mode. It will not work with MultiTrack mode.
  • When using Stereo Mix mode you can use the recorder's mixer to mix all track inputs to stereo.

NOTE
An iPad Camera Connection Kit is necessary to connect an iPad
Based upon the above, I have no idea what the video you mentioned was doing. With Stereo Mix, setting the built-ins to -inf while raising the externals should result in just the externals coming through -- but everything in the manual implies that when used with an iPad the audio interface is just 2-in/2-out.

Thank you. Yes I have the manual too and I read it before I asked.

I am asking about experiences.

Of course I have a Camera Connection!

Have you tried it?
And the Youtube video is easy to find, anyway
Here is the video using multitrack in iPad with iPad Pro
