Zoom H6 terrible noise

Post by bitemyassnow » Sun Sep 17, 2017 1:19 pm

I had a H5 but returned to the store to change H5 for H6.
3 days later I found that the device occasionally makes random noise while using as interface.

Anyone got the same problem?
Is there any way to fix this or should I return to the store to change for a new one?

From your movie the static seems to be caused by reception from nearby electronics and not by the unit. It is sitting close to lots of other electronics.

Have you read the FCC warning? It should read something like this: Note that this quite mentions tv or radio reception but the advice is true of all electrical devices.
there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If
this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by
turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the
following measures:
• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
• Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the
receiver is connected.
• Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
If the store accepts return and replacement and you're not satisfied with your purchase then, by all means, you should return and replace.

Typical "Part-15" caveat... The device is not supposed to cause interference to licensed services (TV and broadcast radio are licensed services, even if the receiver doesn't require a license) -- and there is no recourse if a licensed service causes interference to the device.

How one Part-15 device interacts with another Part-15 device tends to be up-for-grabs...

Thanks for your help.

all solved by using ASIO4all instead of multitrack/stereo
the noise also doesn't occur when I bypass all plugins in multitrack mode.

Glad to read you got it working. How's your latency using ASIO4all?
