Zoom h4n frozen

Post by hazles100 » Tue Oct 17, 2017 11:30 pm

Hi

I knew my batteries were running low, but I started my zoom anyway. It's frozen on the homepage ( saying version=1.72. ). Neither new batteries nor plugging it in makes any difference. Worked perfectly fine yesterday.

Can anyone help? Failing that, anyone know anyone in Auckland that could help?

thanks

Pull the batteries and power for a few days (to let any capacitors drain fully).

Install a freshly formatted SD card (so that there is no possibly corrupted Zoom configuration file).

Install fresh batteries, and turn on the power...

If that still hangs, format and install the firmware update on the card and see if the device will try to install it.
NOTE: I can't tell is the H4nSP is just a style/finish change or something internal, but https://www.zoom-na.com/products/field- ... #downloads has a v1.90 for that, while the non-SP page lists 1.72 (but has the identical image at the top).
