Metronome on H5

Post by Nottingham » Wed Jan 31, 2018 11:20 pm

I have only recently learned to record with my new H5. I can not get the metronome to sound during record. I have carefully followed instructions in the manual. Any help will be appreciated.

Are you trying to play the metronome through the speaker? When I experimented with the H6 it would only play the metronome through the headphone jack.

You still haven't answered the previous post... Are you using headphones or trying to have the click come through the speaker? The device may not play the metronome through the speaker as it could feed-back through the microphones.

What tone are you setting? Maybe try a different tone.

And as F.G. mentioned -- with an H6, the metronome was only via headphone; the H5 might have the same restriction (headphone only to avoid feedback -- heck, is the speaker even active for anything during a recording session, or is it only active for playback-only).

Have you /tried/ headphones? At the least that might reveal if the H5 has the same restriction (no metronome on speaker, but present on headphone).

In which case, as Wulfraed has pointed out, not only is feedback a very real danger but you will also end up with a recording which contains the wanted sound and the metronome clicks.
