ZOOM H5 LINE-OUT to ATOMOS video RECORDER MIC-IN what cable?

Post by Aquilasfx » Thu Apr 12, 2018 6:07 pm

Hello, I need an extension cable to use my zoom h5 as microphone connected to ATOMOS ninja video recorder.
Now I used for both camera/connection RODE TRS 3.5 SC2 dual-male http://it.rode.com/accessories/sc2, but is too short is I want to use the microphone on a boom for example.

1) I need a new TRS cable dual male like ROSE SC8 http://it.rode.com/accessories/sc8 ?
2) is sufficient a normal 3.5 dual jack male; (cheaper)
3) I can use my SC2 with male-female like RODE VC1 http://it.rode.com/accessories/vc1

All the bests from Italy

You could send the Zoom to the camera and HDMI from the camera to the Ninja - seems like that's the primary design intent. I'd use any good quality, straight 3.5mm male-male stereo (TRS-TRS) connector of the necessary length to go from the LINE out, with that level set in the Zoom probably to pad for the camera input, or Ninja, if you can't or don't want to go to camera first.
