ZOOM H1 File Naming

Post by Wilx » Mon Jun 04, 2018 2:40 pm

Hello guys! Is there a way to make ZOOM H1 name files by the date they were recorded? For example: something like 04.06.2018-22-40 instead of ZOOM001

Really need it :)

I didn't see anything like that in the Quick Start guide and they don't have any more detailed manual. I suspect that's not something they thought would be a necessary feature on their most basic recorder!

Seems like that feature doesn't show up until the H4n Pro, and I don't think it's available on my old H6, though I can set it to use dates for project names.

The H5 has it and it should be a demand that all Zoom recorder have it, I use H5, H6 and F4 and I really hate the way the H6 creates loads of ZOOM001's after two weeks in field recording birds etc! The H5 creates 181221-063816 with date and time very neatly! The F4 creates a 20180625_001 _002 etc. and you have to dive into metadata to find the time setting. This must be possible to add in a Firmware update when they already have the codes and knowledge!??

According to the manual, page 86, the H6 does have the option to name PROJECTS by date/time. The H6 is project based, not raw/simple file based.
