Zoom H2 question

Post by Dan33185 » Mon Apr 15, 2019 10:18 pm

So, I might have messed something up with my recorder. I opened it up to use an air can and clean it out a bit (probably a dumb idea looking back at it), and in the process a small piece fell out. I have attached a couple pictures of what it looks like, I can't figure out where it goes or what it does. Everything seems to be working fine, so I'm thinking it's not an integral part of the recorder, but I'd rather have it in there if if belongs obviously. Anyone know what this piece does?

It looks like a button thing or a led guide thing.
Do all buttons function? Do all leds light?

I just tested all the buttons and they all seem to respond to what I'm doing, and all the lights seem to be working as expected. It's weird, everything seems to be working normally, but I don't know, it has to be in there for a purpose I would think, just not sure what that purpose is

My suggestion -- given the shape, would be to look for some area (maybe on the circuit board) and on the cover that appear to have matching holes. It looks a lot like the ends would fit in some holes, with the spring (guessing it would fit on the circuit board side) pushing the cross bar against the display side...

I'm not seeing anything at this point unfortunately. Every hole inside the Zoom appears to have the correct part in it from what I can see.
