Drum tracks

Post by Lyntonc » Thu Sep 13, 2018 7:40 am

I am somewhat puzzled by the drum thing. I read in the manual and elsewhere that the built-in rhythm tracks are in stereo. However, when I assign one to a track, as you must do to use it, the end result is a mono track. I would like to be able to export a stereo rhythm track to Cubase.

Which device? HD16, R24, R8?

The HD16 has a formal drum machine capability, and one of the parameters applied to components of its drum-kits is the panning of each "drum".

R24, the only thing I see is page 75 of the manual -- in which Rhythm Patterns can be set for performer or listener orientation. I'm guessing that the "drum kits" have a built-in normal placement (snare to left of performer, say), which is fixed in the kit. I do not know if you can adjust the pan for drums assigned to each pad; this page just refers to orientation of the pattern, which is "playing back" drums from the active kit.

I'm fairly certain that, in contrast to the Rhythm drum kits, if one were using the track sequencer with audio sample loops, the samples assigned to the pads can be panned for stereo placement.

R8 -- page 59, same as R24

The R8 uses stereo audio samples.
