True - I'd imagine that, in your current configuration you're both running around like one-armed paper hangers throughout the entire gig. Have you ever seen a Rush concert? Those three guys are doing everything live. It's amazing to watch, but I'm sure they're wiped out after a gig, as you guys must be when trying to do everything with two people. Fortunately you have roadies to get everything set up and torn down for you.

Yeah...there have been gigs where I wake up the next day with a crushing 4 hour headache. Also...bandmates have complained before about me being too stressed out and I need to relax more. I should heed that advice more. I'm tellin' ya...I'm just WAITING for some existing, established 4-piece band (drums, rhythm, lead, bass) to ask me to join their band on KEYBOARD ONLY. WOW! That would be insane. You mean...I can actually NOT play for a whole verse? You mean I can leisurely change patches on my keyboard(s) to get ready for my solo? You mean the drummer actually plays the fills and switches patterns for us? For real?? Really?

And on the "roady" note...heh heh...I have a gig today in fact, and I will get there TWO hours before we start just to set everything up. But when we're humming along to "Rikki Don't Lose That Number" and all is well in the world...it's totally worth it. Yum!!

Actually...my guitar player tells me I sometimes look like a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest.

In fact, there was one gig I remember where I didn't have the PSR yet, and I had a stand-alone Boss drum machine thingy and I stupidly mounted it too far away for easy reachability and I really did look like an octopus trying to hit everything...yuck.

Now everything is pretty much in one place. I've learned that I hate standing up at gigs now....so I do everything sitting down. MUUUUCH more relaxed. I also moved my main "solo" keyboard to the bottom rack and the PSR to the top rack and this seems to help add to the comfort level.

You pig! I totally took you seriously. Do NOT make me come down there and take your surfboard bubba. CUZ I WILL.

Geez....if you only knew how many stinkin' brain cells I have BURNED trying to figure all this stuff out. I have been eating/breathing/sleeping "signal routing" for two weeks. And to have it actually WORK! That's why I was so happy!

Yeah, I thought you were serious, too. Could not figure out what you were hinting at. :noway: Kevin, if you pass through Minnesota on your way to kick surfercook's butt, pick me up on the way.

When it comes to live recordings, I think Kevin sets the bar pretty darn high for us and shows us the way.

OK, enough with the smilies. Take care.

Most impressive! I'm listening to the FLACs via a Squeezebox hooked up to an ARCAM/TANNOY system and it sounds great! Better than many commercial recordings I have heard.

EGADS man...I mean it's not like you're an audiophile or anything...I feel honored that someone actually listens to (get this) the .flac's. YOU rock! no...YOU.

For the uninitiated...the "flac" format is a "loss-less" format that essentially cuts a .wav file in half in terms of size while retaining FULL fidelity (yes, even the 24-bit .flac files too). Most folks just download the .mp3's (still relatively high quality...for .mp3's anyways)...but not this guy! He's quality all the way (and for that I thank you!).

Winamp will play .flac's (with a plug-in I think...can't remember). Basically the closest thing to the native .wav without having to be a .wav.

I tip my hat to you sir. Hope you enjoy it...we sure did.

Thanks, Kevin. I forgot to mention that the FLACS are transmitted wirelessly to the Squeezebox. I then bypass the (relatively inferior) DAC in the Squeezebox and feed its digital output to a City Pulse DA 7.2x (24 bit / 192 khz) DAC which then converts to analogue and sends the balanced output to the ARCAM. In other words, the music is being listened to with a fidelity that is as close to the original recording as possible. It sounds great! A testament to a great performance and a glowing testimonial for our little R16.

Now if I can only figure out how to monitor my keyboard while playing an Acid file!
