R16 Repairs

Post by Bradzweb » Thu Apr 27, 2017 9:01 am

Hi Folks. is there any company in the UK that you can recommend for repairing an R16. Mine has some severe noise issues on some of the channels although this sometimes can be cleared by switching the phantom power on and off, or by giving it a good bang! :noway:

Thanks

funny you should say that,my r16 does the same,it sounds like a static noise, but as you say if you turn on the phantom power it clears it.I dont realy use all the inputs so i avoid the noisy ones.

Sounds like it is a loose connection on some of the sockets. It's where they fix on to the pcb, all the connecting and disconnecting can fracture solder joints on the board.
I had this a lot on my 1266, break out the soldering iron, reflow the board, good as new.

Sounds more like a job for the doctors! Me and soldering irons are very distant cousins :-)
