Considering R 8

Post by hophead » Sat May 27, 2017 5:14 pm

I am considering picking up the R 8, as the price is more in my range. I previously owned the MRS 8 but can no longer get an audio off the sd card onto a pc...I suppose it's obsolete. I have had it for a very long time.Any one have any experience with the R8...good or bad??? Thanks.

Life shouldn't be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body... but rather to skid in sideways, guitar in one hand, pint in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming - woo hoo, man what a ride!!!

I have got one, and I think it is a great piece of equipment, given what it provides.
My only problem is that I cannot get the faders to send specific MIDI CC controllers, mostly because they are always sending CC0, by design. Sure, I can re-map them in my DAW, but I have been struggling with having the R8 being recognised as a generic remote MIDI controller.
Let us know your experience with it, hophead, in case you decide to go for it
