Zoom driver newbie questions

Post by stevem5000 » Sun Apr 01, 2018 8:21 pm

I just got the Zoom R16...recorded some stuff on it...
I installed cubase LE on my pc...

Now I'm trying to connect the Zoom to the PC...
I went to https://www.zoom-na.com/news/r16-r24-driver-update-v210 and downloaded the "latest R16 Drivers"...
When I try to install the driver by running Setup...I get this error message...

"Windows cannot complete this extraction...The destination file could not be created"...

I downloaded the driver 2 separate times thinking I got a corrupted download the first time...but no joy...
Need a little help...

You need to UNPACK the ZIP archive first.

You are double-clicking on it, which just opens the Windows file explorer to see the contents -- but it is still a ZIP archive and the first step SETUP performs is to unpack /itself/; but being inside a ZIP archive and not a regular directory it is unable to do that.

Instead, <right-click> "Extract all...", and when that completes go into the new directory to find SETUP. Now you can double click it...
