Will the R 16 Make My Guitar Sound Like a Bass?

Post by GV » Thu May 30, 2019 12:57 pm

I do not have the R 16 handy right now, but did read a little of the manual online, and am confused about whether any of the Aco / Bass Algorithms will actually make an ordinary 6-string electric guitar sound like a bass (i.e., make the strings and notes sound like they are in a lower octave).

I would be grateful for any replies.

Thank you.

If it's like the R8 it does. And it does it pretty good too. Probably the best bass sim I've ever heard, but still not as a good as a real bass of course.

The only problem is the latency introduced when recorded. So it makes it unuseable on the r8 because of the delay on the track (and no way of moving the track back slightly that i know of inside the r8).

the only fix is by maxing the tempo to 250bpm and trimming the start. seems to work.

see this post a few years ago. viewtopic.php?t=17414.

so it can be done inside the r8. no bass guitar needed.
