Save created rhythm tracks to use in different projects?

Post by Geoff » Thu Aug 01, 2019 12:10 pm

When I create a rhythm pattern in an empty space e.g 500, when I begin a different project I can no longer access the rhythm pattern I created. Is there any way to save such patterns for the long term to be used elsewhere?

Hi Geoff,

Welcome to the forum! It maybe helpful for us to know what equipment you're using.

In general, whenever you start a new project in a Zoom product the Zoom begins by creating a song project file. Inside the project file Zoom will generate some "housekeeping" files to keep track of the project. If your computer can access the storage media containing the project folders you should be able to copy the housekeeping files from one project to another project.

Once we know what Zoom device you're using we may be able to guide you about which file(s) need to be copied.

You didn't state the device being used...

For an R24, page 74 of the manual covers "import rhythm patterns" (from other project) -- page 66 indicates the "drum kit" is saved independently, so you might have to set that in the new project also. Not sure if the sequencer settings (which appear to be needed to trigger playback of "patterns") can be copied. {For an R8, manual page 58 & 49, respectively}{For HDx, import is page 111 of the manual}
