G3X annoying background sound

Post by GuitarJoe » Wed Aug 05, 2015 12:42 am

Has anyone else experienced background noise that sounds like a flange effect is always on with the Zoom G3X? This is with all effects off of course. It happens with every guitar and goes away when I plug the guitar straight into my amp.

Re: G3X annoying background sound

I have just got the G3X, and have found that I hear this sound sometimes, particularly when the treble is turned up on other effects, or on my guitar or amp.

It seems to me that this may be a combination of not 100% isolation of one of the effects, together with a high treble setting. Single coil pickups also do not seem to help.

Often, there is also a slight, regular, ticking taking place, almost like a metronome sound.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this?

Thanks for any reply.
