MS-50G connection problem after update

The v3 update went well. The next day I wanted to add some things to it I forgot. When I inserted the USB cable to the PC instead of powering up as connected it came on and showed the effect window like when using the adapter or on batteries. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue? Could it be a bad USB cable? I don't have another readily available to check.
Thanks Zoom for the updates on this. A Roland Jazz Chorus for v4 maybe???
