Hi,

The subject basically says it.

My Zoom Q2N USB is not recognised by Windows 7, but when I first bought it, it connected fine. It now says USB is unrecognisable.

Have you changed computers, tried different USB ports or cables?

If you've changed computers I'm wondering if you might have a different Windows 7 version than you did previously. I switched from 32 bit to 64 bit operating system and have found a few drivers that use to work with one doesn't work with the other. Canon has a 32 bit Win 7 driver for my Canon Lide 35 flatbed scanner but does not have a 64 bit driver. I get the device not recognized error message when I try to use the default operating system driver or try to force load the manufacturer's driver. In another example my wife's laptop will not recognize a Sony digital camera when it's plugged in, sometimes her laptop will not even see the usb cable is plugged in. Both my desktop and laptop recognize the camera.

Sometimes a laptop or desktop computer supplies different amount of power to each port or may use a different USB hub (chip) so it doesn't hurt to try all the USB ports on a computer.

Last, USB cables can give every indication of being good but actually be intermittent.

Thanks, yeah it works on other laptops and PCs.

I'm unlikely to use the Q2N as a webcam or USB microphone, so I'm quite happy to use an SD to USB adapter for downloading files.

Sorry I couldn't come up with better suggestions but glad you have a back up plan to continue using it.
