Hi All.
Here's my dilemma.
If I record a set of music, the Q2n will split that recording in to two or more files as opposed to retaining the complete set as one file. I'm not sure why this is happening.
Does anyone out there have any insights as to why and what can be done to fix this?
Thanks in advance
faruge

Re: Q2n Files are split
Hi faruge and welcome to the forum! When you say recordings are split into two or more files what do you mean? Please note I don't have a Q2n so my answers are based on reading the Q2n specifications on Zoom's Q2n web page.
Are you trying to record multi-tracks? The Q2n records stereo (left/right) wave files so it is not intended to be used as a multi-track recorder.
How long a time period are you recording? Many recorders have a maximum recording time. If the time is not listed in the manual you might have to ask Zoom support what the maximum time is for the Q2n.

Splitting at 2GB by any chance? That's the max size for many digital video recorders (and what the 2Qn manual says).
The best solution is to stop and restart recording before you hit the maximum, honestly.

Actually I've noticed that the files are splitting at 3.69GB si I'm assuming that this number would change depending on the resolution I chose? In any case what would be the best software to stitch these files back together?

Re: Q2n Files are split
You should be able to paste them together in any current video editing software I'd think, assuming your computer has the memory and processor to do it. (Did you try with what you have?) But I'd break them into smaller pieces first. I mean, how long is this thing and who's going to watch those many continuous hours of home video?
