Recommedations for Q2n editing software

Post by malc67 » Wed Jul 03, 2019 12:28 pm

Hey folks,

Used to use Windows Movie Maker with my Q2n for editing our band rehearsals and gigs. Unfortunately I had a glitch recently with my pc and needed to uninstall Movie Maker. I've tried re-installing it to find that it is no longer available, so I need a replacement video editing software. I have tried Ezvid which Microsoft recommend, but I am finding it very difficult to navigate.
Is there anything else that someone has used that is any good?

Thanks

Malc

The Zoom HandyShare is very basic but does work. It can't merge files, but will normalize the audio and allows trimming. See https://zoom-na.com/products/field-vide ... #downloads

DaVinci Resolve is great if your computer has the resources.

Late to the party but I would recommend ShotCut as a free and functional video editing tool: https://shotcut.org/ It's pretty light on resources and offers a pretty straightforward workflow.

Glad you like the idea, Jim. Resolve gets all the attention these days but it takes a hairy chested computer to run it.

There's another freebie that has some great features but is a bit quirky and a bit more resource hungry than ShotCut, that's HitFilm Express: https://fxhome.com/hitfilm-express

I've done blog posts on both these free programs a couple of years ago:

They both have had several rounds of updates since then, of course.
