PS02 simple limiter question?

Post by Andy Rattle » Fri May 02, 2008 6:58 am

Ive been recording some band rehearsals using an external mic and the good old PS02.
Cause i have to kind of guess the levels then go off to play ive been getting a lot of spikes going over the 1

Which way do ytou set the limiter so it only clips if the levels are high if you see what i mean?

will a setting of 2 keep everything below -2 or -8? ie is a setting of 2 doing a lot of limiting or hardly any?

Hey Andy
Not sure on the answer to your question but just another sugestion for you with your previously recorded tracks that are clipped.

I did this once before and it worked a treat where i had a track that was full of clips from a live recording with the PS_04 and i took it into Audacity and added the hard limiter and at about 2db which took the spikes of the top of the wavefprm which removed all the clips.

It may doesn't work all the time but might be worth a try.

Good luck
