Does anybody still use either of these?

Post by Beatnick » Sat Oct 06, 2018 1:57 pm

Just curious. I still have my PS-04. The PS-02 is not working anymore though. Actually ribbon inside the PS-04 for the screen broke. I took the one from the PS-02 to repair the PS-04. A part of me wishes I had left the PS-02 alone, because I liked creating a little sequence and repeating it to record a jam, I don't think you can do that with the PS-04. Anyway, not often, but once in a blue moon I put my headphones on and mess with the PS-04. It's been a while though. Does anybody still use theirs?

I pulled the PS-04 out of storage a while ago, slid the sliders, pushed some buttons, and put it away.

I remember talking to you back when I got my PS-04, I went by Me back then. I haven't really used mine in a while, but I do know exactly where it is. I still love the size of it. It was a great size for keeping in a gig bag or something for working on quick ideas.

I keep the PS02 in my case of spares i take to gigs. As a backup if my amp ever fails i can plug into it and through the PA. I still quite like the basic guitar sound through it.
I look back on recording with it with fondness though...it was simple and good fun creating with the PS02. I could never understand why it wasn't more popular.

I had never seen any Zoom products in a music store or heard of Zoom until my wife purchased a MRS-8 to present to me as a Christmas gift. That is my all time favorite gift. I still don't see Zoom products in brick & mortar music stores.

I had an mrs8 ... never got to grips with the small screen and the menus. Ive been using a tascam dp08 for years now, small screen still but more intuitive, and more knobs and slider based.
you're probably right about instore, although my original ps02 was from academy of sound (now pmt) in norwich.

Years ago a local store carried Zoom, that was when the 505 was new. They carried Zoom for a few years. I think I got the 508 there and the GFX-8 there too. After they stopped carrying Zoom I'd find some in pawn shops and then when I got online I bought some pedals on eBay. When the PS-02 came out I had read a lot about it online and drove 2 hours to a Sam Ash to get one. I got my PS-04 there too. Now it's back to occasional pawn shop finds and online when I really want something.
