Suggestion: how about a Linux subforum?

Post by jack o-trades » Thu Aug 10, 2017 12:03 pm

Hello all,

I own a R16 Recorder/Audio Interface/Controller. And as Audio Interface it'll be connected with a Linux desktop.

A quick search learned that I'm not the only one on these forums with a Zoom R16 at home and Linux on their home computers. And I didn't even check all the other Zoom forims for 'Linux' quotes.

Officially, Zoom is only "suited" for the MS Windows and Mac markets. In practice, though, the Linux community seems to count many Zoom owners as well. But at the moment the latter category is scattered all over the place. Hard to find if you need them. So I believe there's an argument for a Linux subforum. The best, I think, that it'll improve communication and exchange between groups that normally don't interact that much with each other.

I'd be interested to hear the opinion of posters and readers. As well as, of course the people behind Zoom Forums.

jack o-trades,

It's been awhile since you've posted so welcome back!

Both Linux and Zoom have devoted followers so I believe your suggestion has some merit; however I'm not the forum owner.

I don't know how many Zoom forums there are. This is the only Zoom forum I know of and the only one that shows up in a quick search.

If five other people post here and say this would be useful to them I'll add it.

All right jack o-trades, looks like the ball is back in your court! Soon all your R-16 buddies running Linux will have a place to meet. I'm looking forward to reading the posts.
