Acoustic Guitar with Built-in Chorus & Reverb Effects

Post by Jim_Fogle » Sat Apr 09, 2016 11:48 am

Yamaha anounced at German trade show a series of acoustic guitars that have chorus and reverb effects built-in. The video showing a guy enjoying his guitar from dawn to late at night is entertaining.

I was going to say that the silent guitars had reverb, then watched the videos and realised the effect here is not on the headphone out like the silents, or on a jack out, but you can have effects without plugging the guitar in. A crazy idea but not sure it would be very useful to me.

Yes, very strange indeed but if manufacturers don't stick their head out every now and then think how dull life would be. I've always thought of Yamaha as a very solid but conservative manufacturer. I guess this guitar is proof I'm wrong.

The TransAcoustic is based on Yamaha's "L" acoustic guitar which is pretty innovative already. I read the suggested retail price will be about $1,300 US. That is a fair price for what is advertised as a hand made guitar but still more than I would or could pay.

I'm sticking with my original assessment. :)
