The ToneWood Amp - Fx for acoustic guitars - easy to attach to instrument.

Post by The Cracks » Wed May 30, 2018 5:09 pm

I would probably have been very excited about this about four years ago when I was playing open mics on a regular basis, but now I just pass the information on about the ToneWood Amp in case anyone is interested. It's an Fx processor that attaches very easily to the back of the guitar. It appears to run about $250.00 in the U. S. (Sorry if anyone already posted about this. I looked but couldn't find anything.)

Here is the company write-up:

Experience the acoustic guitar in a whole new way with the ToneWood Amp and its multi-effect processor which includes different available effects.

Here's a Youtube video of the famous Justin playing around with one.

A year or so ago I ran across the ToneWood Amp on Kickstarter. The idea is similar to Yamaha's TransAcoustic guitars.

The TransAcoustic guitars mechanically generate reverb and chorus effects. https://usa.yamaha.com/products/musical ... index.html.

A few years ago Martin offered an acoustic-electric guitar that electronically modeled the sound of a series of famous acoustic guitars Martin has in its museum. Unfortunately I can't find a link to the guitar.

Very cool idea, but I would worry about the vibrations somehow messing up the guitar. I suppose they are no greater in amplitude than the normal vibrations from playing. Still, seems weird. Would love to try one though.

A nearby brick & motor music store is a Yamaha dealer and it keeps one of the western and one of the concert TransAcoustics in stock all the time. The store says they sell good and are trouble free. I haven't seen any used ones show up yet.
