This perhaps?

I've just had a look at that . Although I thought initially it was a solution they only allow SMS notifications after you've received 200 minutes of re-directed calls :(

Maybe if I ever get another phone number I'll think about it again.
I don't understand because I never even gave Facebook my phone number. They never asked for it when I signed up. I never use my account though. I just don't like Facebook. The only thing I do there is on my Beatnick's Odyssey page I update when I release a new song or video and I don't know why I bother since there appears to only be one person paying attention to it.

Taking one last stab at this, although the VPN option is looking more attractive all the time.

When I tried to register I got a message saying something doesn't look right and asked me to confirm who I was by sending me an SMS. As I'd previously had an account that also had my phone number I couldn't continue. I think I had to give my number when I originally set up the account for validation purposes.

Thanks again. I can't work out what Freedompop does but the others are not available in Europe.

Nice try!

Cheers

Now that I think about it, they must have my number because I occasionally get text messages from them. They always nag me about something. I was tired of notifications so I turned them off, so they started emailing me, then I blocked them from emailing me so they started texting me. I really hate the way Facebook nags you all the time and the way it suggests people I do not know.

Perhaps this is helpful? https://www.gadgetcouncil.com/create-facebook-account/
There has to be a way.

Once again it seems very slanted to USA.

I'm looking at other options now.

Moderator: There are two 'We're moving to Facebook' threads and they both seem to be discussing getting US/non-US phone numbers.
Is it possible to re-title them and split off the origional 'We're moving to Facebook' discussion?
I'd still be interested in some discussion here before ships are burnt.

Oh, the ships are already burning. ;)

Listen lads, get your scrawny butts over to Facebook. I look forward to seeing you all there. Yes, it is EVIL, but it's where we will meet and plot the Zoom Gear Home Recording revolution. You don't want to miss out.

It's been a long time coming. You can find and join the new forum at https://www.facebook.com/groups/zoomforum/.

I'm going to close this forum to new members today or tomorrow and will be taking the whole thing offline probably by the end of the year. If there are posts you want to save, save them now. Heck, you can even post them over at the new forum.

It's been a blast, but it's time to move on. I hope to see you all on Facebook.

:^:
Thank you Zoetrope from the bottom of my heart. I have enjoyed this forum immensely and I have learned so much from everyone. I knew the day was coming but I am still saddened by the news. I have a few more songs on the stove that aren't quite ready to present yet. I do have a FaceF**k (as I call it), although I use it for just family stuff. I don't have a million old high school friends and such. Just some siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins. I'm not sure how many songs I'll be posting there unless I can keep my group postings off my main account timeline. I don't want my family, etc., listening to my music. I am very private about it. That's why I've always said you virtual friends know me better than some "real" friends.

So long to everyone who I've virtually met over the years and rest in peace to those friends who are no longer with us.

Zoom2090.org gets a standing ovation. :applause:

You could create a "page" and post to the group from the page. https://thedigiterati.com/link-facebook-group-to-page/

That said, the Facebook group is private and I'm keeping it that way.

Just saw this, and sorry to see it, but understandable. I'm not a frequent poster here, but I've enjoyed this board. It's been friendly. I too do not use FB. I won't say I'll never use it; never's a long time, but no intentions to right now. I'm leery of it.
