2nd best FTW / Original / Folk / Zoom R8 + Reaper

Post by Wolfini » Sun Jul 03, 2016 8:31 am

Hi again!

Here is my newest song for the "happy folk" project:

2nd best FTW

There is a saying: "2nd place is the first loser", and I think that is nonsense. This song is about why.

Production notes:

Yamaha A3m guitar (direct and miced) into R8,
Yamaha fretless bass through Vox Stomplab b1 into R8
Vocals through Art MP/C into R8
Added some strings and stuff in Reaper, also mixed and mastered there.

Nice production. Very well balanced. Your voice sounds good like this with no reverb. Or is there? Focused lyrics with a sincere message. Good one. Glenn

Sounds good, your usual excellent recording quality, though I found the panned guitars a bit distracting when they are not playing simultaneously.

Really great sound you have on this one and not having a lead break helps to my ears.
Very tight playing, and liked the over dubbed vocals / harmony too.

Very nice. That A3M sounds lovely. I need to work on getting mine recorded that well.

This is quite nice. It sounds a bit like your last effort, but there are distinct differences. Agree that your sound is very good. The mix is well balanced and easy to hear everything.

Solid writing and performance Wolfi. Sounding good :-)

You write a fine set of lyrics (especially considering English isn't your first language!)

Impressive.

You sound like pros to me. The vocals and instruments were well balanced. Very good playing. Nice lyrics which I agree with BTW.
