An original called 'Piece By Piece' with my favorite lyricist/vocalist collaborator, Aly.

I like this. Good songwriting and the lady's voice is quite nice. Your acoustic guitar sounds a bit muffled, at least through my gear, but it still was a good listen.

The song is quite well done, both voice and instruments, funny enough the bit I like most is the bass :)

The bass was me playing a MIDI keyboard into Cakewalk SI Bass ;)

Good job Bob. I like Aly's voice. Is there a bit of echo or delay on it. I like how the song structure changes. Your solo rocked. I agree that the bass is just a smidge high in the mix.

Thanks, Glenn. I used Cake's Vocal Strip on the vocal, with the Doubler section enabled via automation for the chorus sections.

It's easier to show than describe, but yes there is a touch of delay and some other goodies.

This is well done, Bob. It reminds me of Blondie in many ways. Is there any Band-in-the-Box action going on here? I love that electric guitar breaks. Nice separation on instruments. I can really hear the guitar strumming. Nice vocals and lyrics. Great mix. Very catchy pop tune. I like it!

Thanks Cracks! No BiaB. We did it all ourselves except for drums, which are EZ Drummer with some minor tweaks.

It started with me doing the 8 bars of electric guitar rhythm to a monotonous drum beat. Then we went back/forth fleshing out the full progression and structure and so on until we were done.

It's a ton of fun and she is awesome to work with.

Nicely laid back Bob.

Everything in its place.

I think you could have made a bit more of the "chorus" to bring out the darker texture but it works well in the context of the song so that's what matters.

Cheer s

Dick .

Thanks for listening, Dick. Good comment on the chorus. I'm hoping we will be able to manage time for more and eventually tighten up our process a little bit to get a little more polished results.

Nice! It had a bit of the Abba feel to it right down to the vocals. Loved the old skool vibe.

I like it! Nice guitar sounds and mix of parts. The solo was nice, too. How much did you tweak the drums? It had a nice push to it - I think maybe the two eighth note bass drum hits on the first beat just gave it nice bit of momentum. The only thing I would consider changing is maybe laying of the effects on her voice a bit. I like the timbre of her voice, I wouldn't mess with it too much. It's a matter of taste, really, I tend toward less vocal effects than most. Unless it's my singing!

Nicely done!
