Aint even done with the night, cover, Sonar 4

Post by Omegaman » Tue Feb 28, 2017 11:27 am

Listening to some of my stuff on soundclick as a background today.... forgot I had uploaded this one. I do it live at open mics and solo shows and people seem to love it. One they don't hear too often

:stick:

You always remind me of a great wedding band (there are some out there). I can imagine a whole room dancing to this.

I don't ever remember hearing this but someone must have been playing it - "highest in sub-genre: # 1" .

Nice Jersey sounding sax.

Good one Bill. More like it!

I really need to rerecord "Closing Down the Night". Your sax was superb on the recording. It was that jam mix or whatever that program was called (it was a cheap Band-in-the-Box) that I wasn't happy with.

I don't know the original, so it sounds like an original to me. The stand out is your sax solo. Your mix is right on. I can see how this would be popular at weddings.

It's nice to see you "hangin round" here again, Bill. I was just wondering the other day how you were doing.

It took me until you got to the chorus to when I remembered hearing the original version of the song. You still can wail on the horn and you're managing to keep your vocal chops honed too. My voice is slowly going south. Asthma's a be-eye-itch. Keep turnin' um out!

thanks all. Yeah I'm still playing, doing voiceover work, working, trying to freelance video etc etc...

John, I hear ya on the voice... my range is getting smaller ;) Just gotta exercise that muscle more.

1982 Johnny Cougar...which had an alto solo, but I am all tenor all the time. ;)

I'll try to spend a bit more time around here... and who knows maybe actually churn out an original or two.

Hey, good sax chops but also good singing, I don't remember hearing you sing before. Look forward to an original.

Well, I know this tune very well. pure Jersey stoke in this one. The midi is killing me but your singing and musicianship tip the scales in your favor. Pretty sure I remember when you recorded this. What do you record with?

my usual set up, EV RE20 into Aphex 107 mic pre, MAudio 1296 sound card, and probably used Audition or maybe Sonar 4.. yeah the midi sounds suck. I can pick up a karaoke track, but I like the drum cues in this one. ;)
