Run, Popeye, Run! ~ instrumental ~ R24
I often play "Sailor's Hornpipe" a/k/a Popeye's Theme on my guitar as a warm up. I added a beat and came up with this. It was fun to record. Enjoy! Glenn

lol..I played this alot too. Never quite like this though. It's def a nice little study and exercise. Very cool RECing, performance, and arrangement. Quite creative. What are those drums? Nice beat. My new RECing has drums that aren't too perfect!

Thanks for listening Marc. It's just a stock loop that comes in my Digitech RP255, multieffects, pedal.

Good one Lungfruit. I like the fuzz tone. It adds a nice quality to the tune.
Brian Jones of the Stones used to play this during Satisfaction I just read in a book ("The Sun, The Moon, and The Rolling Stones" - a great book, by the way). He figured nobody could hear him anyway because of all the screaming and because he was jealous and angry that Mick and Keith were writing the songs for the band.
In any event, this is a good recording.

I just watched the Rolling Stones documentary "Crossfire Hurricane" on Netflix and Keith said this same thing only he said he played it. Thanks for listening, GlennThe Cracks wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2017 3:55 pm

This is neat! Love the Olive Oyl thing you got going woven in and out the track. I must say this is the first time I heard this tune in a fuzz tone guitar, but it's really cool.

Not bad, the only thing stranger would be the Modern Jazz Quartet doing a theme and variations of the riff. Like the guitar tone, there was steak in that sound.

Fun sounding exercise. Thanks for adding the production information. I had a smile on my face the whole time I was listening.
