Me and the Devil Blues - H6/Logic X - cover (acoustic blues)

Post by still_fiddlin » Wed Jul 05, 2017 12:20 pm

Not technically a "home" recording, but done at an open mic where I had set up my Zoom H6. It's an old Robert Johnson blues tune with guitar, dobro, harmonica.

I think this qualifies as a "home" recording, at least in my book.

Wonderfully clear recording. Great performance.

Thanks for the listens and comments. I record this using splitters on the mics that are set up and a DI on guitars so I capture everything before it goes to the [ancient] Peavey mixer the host uses for sound. This usually works quite well, though I am continuing to try and add an external mic - looking at shotguns now, to try and get a little more acoustic sound from the guitar(s). I have the H6 extension module so I can capture up to 6 channels.

Very nicely performed and recorded. Sounding good, lovely clean slide (mine always sounds a real mess!)

Cheers

Excellent playing by all, but I feel like the harmonica is a bit further back at some bits of the song than it should be, I don't know if it is a matter of distance from the microphone, or mixing levels.
