"Dream On Mahogany" ~ Diana Ross + Aerosmith cover (Americana) ~ R24

Post by Lungfruit » Fri Apr 13, 2018 6:54 pm

This is a mash up cover of Diana Ross' "Theme From Mahogany" & Aerosmith's "Dream On". It's done in Americana/folk style.

I've had "Theme" on my mind for a long time and I fiddled around with it a bit over the years but nothing really came of it...until now. I was playing with some diminished chords and the words seem to fit.

Here are links to the originals:

Thanks for listening.

Very nice listen. Good mash up. Lovely lead guitar. So rich. Good harmonica playing too.

Good one.

This rocks! Is that a real banjo I hear? I too like the lead gtr, very nice. Your vocals are pleasantly off key (only slightly!) and you're definitely carrying this tune home strong.

Thanks for the listen. It’s a banjitar you are hearing. That’s easier for me to play than a banjo. I’m using an effect on my voice that gives it a quirky vibrato. I think it makes it sound off key...or more likely, I’m off key! :D

My apologies. I, like many others it seems, have been absent for a while.

Another clever mashup and I'd throw Neil Young in there as well.

Nice to hear a banjo! 😜

Cheers
