Let go - Up-tempo indie rock - THR10c, Reaper

Post by aux8 » Fri Nov 02, 2018 11:57 am

Let go - up-tempo indie rock

This is more up-tempo than other tunes I've recorded. I kinda like it. It maybe needs to be cranked up up bit to enjoy 'properly'. Maybe that's not such a good sign...

It's simple elements - telecaster, acoustic, bass, drums. Maybe the tele is too loud in the mix? Or maybe the acoustic is just unnecessary?

Needs vocals? Yes, I know it does.

Any and all thoughts and comments gratefully received. Thank you

I like is the way it is. I don't think it needs vocals at all.

Breezy! The sound of getting away. How about some ambient city noises in the background becoming the sound of nature at the end? I've hardly touched a guitar in three months, as I bought a longboard and took a heavy dive about 40 minutes in, lots of bruises and a broken big toe. But those 40 minutes kind of felt like your song sounds. Btw, I now own a kick scooter... :D

Sounds fresh and lively.

Yes, I think vocals would be a good addition but it stands by itself well enough.

Cheers

I enjoyed listening, uptempo is good. I like having both the Telecaster and acoustic.

I like it! Reminds me of R.E.M. Great guitar playing (both acoustic and electric).

Good recording.

I'll add a vote for vocals. Even something sparse (I'm thinking Dire Straits - Sultans Of Swing) would be nice. Nice job on the performance.

 Zoetrope! I'm not worthy!!

Thank you for stopping by. I'm honoured.

In my head the vocal would have a raw roar of 'Let go!' - a bit more untamed than Knopfler... But that's just in my head

It almost has surf rock sound to it. It certainly has a cool vibe that I enjoyed listening too. I find it hard to listen to alot of songs without lyrics, but it works with this one. It's good. The instruments are all in balance. It almost has a R.E.M. vibe ala "Don't go back to Rockville". I hope to hear more of this. Glenn

I'm impressed by the clean sound in this. Style reminds me of some of the 60s guitar bands like The Ventures.

I liked this a lot, doesn't necessarily need vocals, works as an instrumental
