"Hassle & Kin". kinda janglepop-ish.

Post by mcdaggett » Fri Mar 22, 2019 2:22 pm

Hey there. Lotta work lately, looking forward to catching up with your songs. Here's a 12 year old recording about (my) family, recorded as part of a 10-song album, whilst being deeply depressed. I remember using a Zoom 505 for all the guitar stuff. All other stuff is blurry. Vocals are louder in the mix on this one... :D

Fantastic! What a smooth recording. This sounds like how I wanted my latest to sound. What a pro recording.

A+!

Great recording. Great song.

Aw-shucks, thanks. But honestly, it's everything but a pro recording. Fruity-Loops, a 25bucks-Magix-recording software and a 12bucks-microphone for vocals and the acoustic guitar. I even had to use the 505 (1st generation) to add reverb to the vocals, as the Magix-program didn't have any plug-ins.

It’s an excellent song! You’ve got indie vibe down tight. Your sense of melody and song craft are very pro sounding. You’ve got it. I really enjoyed listening to it. Glenn

Like this a lot. Whole vibe of it, but really digging the instrumental break. Very nice!

Great song. Reminds me a bit of CCR. I remember falling in love with the 505 the first time I heard it in a music store. I traded in my Ibanez PT-3 to get it. Do you remember if you recorded the guitar direct or ran it through an amp? It sounded very good to me. I'm a strong believer that you don't need to spend a lot of money to sound good and on some of my older recordings I do remember hooking my 505 up to use it for vocal effects too. I'm glad I finally got around to listening to this. Great stuff.

That's an easy recording to listen to. Nice sound, full mix that has all the tracks nicely balanced against each other. To me the song has a "Don't Fear The Reaper" feel to it.

Excellent! I like the song, your voice, your playing, the harmonies and oh so clean mixing. Kudos!
