California Snow Day ; Logic Pro X

A new song from our virtual band - The Phobias

Richard says - Something unusual and beautiful.

Richard Marris : lyrics, melody, acoustic guitar, vocals
Dave Dilliway : Electric guitar
Me : Bass and arrangement

California Snow Day © 2019 Marris

We started talking ‘bout the weather
You said this was your coldest day
And here in my room we’re still together
You’re scared your road might slip away

And by the minibar’s cold light
Those little empty bottles clink into the night
You brush your teeth with a finger
Give me a hug, let it linger

Said anything else, just wouldn’t feel right
Well that was a good night

But the morning seems too bright
Look out the window, this what I see
California snow day
So beautiful that it made you cry
Put your sunglasses on
Kiss me goodbye

I woke on the couch and find you sleeping
Dry mouthed we face a brand new day
And I have a memory for the keeping
And there’s not much else we need to say...

Except...
Now your load seems lighter
You made my world brighter
Shining white in your eyes back at me
California snow day
So beautiful that it made you cry
Put your sunglasses on
Kiss me goodbye…..

Kiss me goodbye…..
Kiss me goodbye…..
Kiss me goodbye

Yes, very beautiful.

Nice collaboration. Nice story in lyrics. Great sound.

Good job to all.

You're right, that is a beautiful song. The voice, the lyrics and the smooth playing were perfect. Love the twang of the (steel guitar?). It had me tapping my foot the whole time. Outstanding job.

Thanks Roy.

Not a steel guitar but Dave manages to get some very steel like sounds out of it.

I'm pleased you enjoyed it :)

Cheers

Dick,
Interesting lyrics. The trumpet effect is a nice touch. I like the mix except Richard's vocal track seems just a bit high in the mix when I listen to it on my headphones. I like it! Glenn

Thanks Glenn.

I do tend to mix vocals high. I get frustrated when I hear something and can't make out the words!

Cheers
