Hi zoom members just got my first unit MRS 1608 and looking forward to years of no computer recording experiences.
It came with the HDDerror so I got the factory CD download link and spent hours trying to make recovery CD’s none of which work. What am I doing wrong.
Zoom provides 2 files.
MRS recovery.bin 1kb looking in a text reader it looks like this has boot info for the Zoom MRS
and MRSrecovery.img 686mb
First I used power ISO to unpack the .img onto CD, which it did making lots of new folders on the CD. Problem is it cannot make the CD bootable as it needs a boot info file. The .bin file is not suitable. Tried a few ISO programs but no further. No program takes both the .img file and the .bin file to composite one new image.
Then I used nero 7 CD rom maker. To just burn the .bin and .img file straight to CD which it did, but again it cant write any type of boot info.
Neither work.. Which is the right way. Did I do it right (which way was right) and if so I can know if it needs a new CD reader..
MRS1608 recovery disk, how can I make bootable CD ?

Just. He checking in
Good to see others still using this deck
I don't have insight on this
But shied away from buying Usb drive
Cos I can buy a new deck for a little more with proper Usb in it already

rogerharris,
The best place (in the US or Canada) to try obtain a MRS-1608 recovery CD is from Zoom N-A, the North American distributor for Zoom products. Here is a link to make your request: https://www.zoom-na.com/contact.
I would make sure to tell them you are not sure how to make a bootable CD so you need the CD. If they send you a link to download an image make sure they provide specific step-by-step instructions about how to use the image file to create the recovery CD.
