Interesting piece of work. I love the form (intro then song). Well put together.

I took a close look at the picture of the "Chicken Man". The character looks a bit odd and one wonders why that character was used to promote their chicken dinners. Colonel Sanders had a better idea.

"Bwauk Bwauk"

Thanks John. A bit of our departure from our normal style but it seemed to work.

It's an interesting question. I think it's a little unhinged and more like something from a David Lynch film.

Cheers

Here is a little video on how to pronounce Maryland.

I think the official way would be: mEH - r - uh- l - uh - n - d

I wish it were (in my opinion): Mary - Land

But most people here say it like: Maralind (that's how it sounds to me when I say it)

It's two words (Mary and Land, in honor of of your own Queen Mary), but it runs together as one new word.

Funny how you don't even think about how you pronounce things until someone points it out.

Thanks Sean. It seems that Merrylund is nearest, I'll join in on the next one! Thanks for the response.

Then again we have some weird stuff over here.

Magdalen College in Oxford is actually pronounced Maudlin.

Isn't Arkansas pronounced Arkensaw?

This language business is fun isn't it? ;)

And the s is silent in Illinois. I've heard they sometimes get mad if you say ill-a-noise.

There's a brilliant album by Sufjan Stevens called "Come on Feel The Illinoise" (no doubt a play on words from the Slade track "Cum on feel the Noize"!)

It includes one of my favourite tracks - Chicago

I thought that was Quiet Riot.

I remember the controversy surrounding that song because some people say they didn't always say, "Girls, rock your boys."

The original from 1973. No controversy in the UK ;)

I had no idea that was a cover. Didn't they also do the song Runaway?

Slade wrote some great pop songs but I don't remember them doing Runaway

The Runaway I know was done by Del Shannon in 1961 https://youtu.be/0S13mP_pfEc

I looked it up, the song was actually called Run Run Away it was from 1984. Awesome song. You'll probably recognize it when you hear it. I didn't know they did the original Cum on Feel the Noize too. I haven't heard this in years. Great stuff.

The Del Shannon song is Awesome too. I actually did an instrumental version of it on my PS1 years ago using MTV Music Generator. I never actually recorded it though.

Looks like I'm late to the party as usual. Listening right now. This is cool. I love the tuning a radio concept as a bridge between sections. It ended before I was ready for it to.

I've gone back and listened a couple of times. Every time I'm surprised when the song ends, I can't explain it. Every time I listen its like I'm hearing it for the first time. It's really a fascinating song to listen to.

Amazing, I don't remember that song at all! It's brilliant :)

Thanks for the heads-up. Slade were a very good rock band. They are still going but without Noddy Holder who was one of rock's great vocalists and showmen.

Thanks Marc.

There is no shame in being late. I'm working on a song I started 7 years ago.....

Perhaps we should have extended the final section as you are not the first to say that!

Thanks again.

Cheers

Thanks for coming back Jim. See my comments to Mr Z above!

Both Richard and I really appreciate the comments.
