New controller app for the B1on, B1Xon, G1on and G1Xon
Hello. I've been working on an app to control the ZOOM B1on, B1Xon, G1on and G1Xon. Here's a screenshot...
In the left panel you can...
- Edit the current patch name
- Edit the current patch level
- Change the current patch
- Change the current patch by name
- Swap patches by dragging patch names
- Backup and restore patches (using XML files for portable and unlimited storage)
- Browse effects by type
- Change effects by dragging the effect icons onto a channel (in the right panel)
In the right panel you can...
- Rearrange the effect channels by dragging the effect icons
- Bypass effects
- Delete effects
- Change any effect parameter (in real time)
The app responds when the following changes are made on the zoom device...
- Changing patches
- Changing parameters (in real time)
- Changing effects
- Adding effects
- Deleting effects
- Bypassing Effects
There are some limitations to what can be acheived, but the app offers a great deal of control of these ZOOM pedals.
I'm nearly ready to release the app. Pricing is yet to be established.
It will be available for Windows, Linux, and Mac
At this stage, all comments are welcome.
Thanks

Don't have any pedals so I have no use for the app.
While it is a beautiful looking app I find the dark tone of the skin too dark. The font is thin and a little difficult to read.
Much success. The more third party support Zoom has for their products, the more popular their products will be.
You may want to contact Armin at http://www.soundside.de/. After creating third party applications for Zoom products for several years Zoom added a link to his site on their site. Nothing like getting an official stamp of approval from the manufacture to boost sales.

Thanks for the supportive message. Nice to know that Zoom are happy to affiliate with 3rd parties. Puzzling that they don't supply software for these cheaper pedals tho!

I firmly believe Zoom just barely survived the emotional trauma and economic downturn ultimately caused by the 2011 earthquake. My opinion is none of the Japanese music companies have really rebounded to their pre-earthquake creative glory. Zoom likely does not have the economic resources to develop accessories for all their products as they would like to.

Re: New controller app for the B1on, B1Xon, G1on and G1Xon
I find this overall a good thing. But, it has me thinking how Zoom has done this with the Zoom MultiStomp series and
other various functions like midi over USB in their pedals. They build the hardware to support it, but they don't officially
write code in their host software that allows access to those features. Eventually someone like yourself comes along and
writes a nice little app to gain access to those features, which is great, but have to wonder why Zoom didn't themselves.

Much less customer support requirement on a very inexpensive product.

Re: New controller app for the B1on, B1Xon, G1on and G1Xon
Hello.
Thanks for inquiring about this app. It's not far off.
I'll drop some links here when it's ready to launch in about a month, maybe less.
I have a feeling that the board is not to be used for commercial purposes?!
Just a heads-up. It's not free, and I'm unsure about the forum-etiquette etc.
Having thought long and hard on a suitable price, I've decided that €5 is reasonable.
It has been a lot of work, especially as I'm the only person working on it.
You'll be able to download it for free to try it out, but the demo version is limited to 1 channel (of 5).
And as stated in this thread title, it works with the B1on, B1Xon, G1on and G1Xon.
I'll keep you posted.
Thanks again
